How To Clean Your SolTorch Coils

SolTorch coil cleaning

You may have noticed by now that over time your SolTorch ceramic bucket and your SolTorch touch coils will need to be cleaned. This is especially true when you are using waxes and extracts with residual solvents in them. In the long term, we recommend purchasing fresh new coils. But, if you want to medicate immediately or want to save a little money, don’t worry! We will show you how to clean your SolTorch coils in just a couple of easy steps with a few common households items.

What you need: Isopropyl alcohol (90% is best), an oven, parchment paper (or a silicone baking mat), Q-tips, a baking sheet, alcohol wipes

  • Isopropyl alcohol (90% is best)
  • Oven
  • Parchment paper (or a silicone baking mat)
  • Q-tips
  • Baking sheet,
  • Alcohol wipes

Step 1: Preparation

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees (Fahrenheit) and place your silicone mat or parchment paper on the baking sheet.

Then disassemble your SolTorch Wax Pen and remove the ceramic bucket and/or SolTorch touch coil from the battery itself.

Place the SolTorch ceramic bucket and SolTorch touch coil in a small cup of Isopropyl alcohol and let it soak for 5-10 minutes. Soaking the coils in alcohol does not damage them.

Remove the cap from the ceramic bucket and place the ceramic bucket coil face down on the parchment paper (or silicone mat) on top of the baking sheet. Also, place the SolTorch touch coil on the sheet as well.

Step 2: Cleaning time!

Now that you have prepped the baking sheet, parchment paper, and preheated the oven as well as thoroughly soaked and placed the coils you can now go ahead and put the ceramic bucket and the touch coils in the oven.

Make sure you place the ceramic bucket face down so the coils can drain onto the parchment.

NOTE: DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES PLACE THE BATTERY COMPARTMENT IN THE OVEN.

Set the timer for 10 minutes and wait. You can keep checking in to see how much of the residual wax drains from your coils.

Keep repeating as necessary. Cleaning times can vary based on how dirty the coils are.

While you are waiting you can also disassemble the metal sleeve from the SolTorch wax pen kit and wipe down the battery cylinder with an alcohol wipe just in case there is any residual wax on the battery itself.

As you keep repeating the steps of draining the ceramic bucket and touch coils you should keep checking for how much residual extract has drained off.

Once the coils are drained to your satisfaction carefully remove the sheet from the oven and let it cool.

Step 3: Preparing for use

Take a Q-tip and clean out the remaining alcohol and extract left on the coils. You might not be able to get out every last drop but you can get it pretty close. Let it air dry until there are no noticeable wet areas.

IMPORTANT: Make sure the coils are completely dried before using the SolTorch wax pen. Inhaling isopropyl alcohol can be dangerous.

Dry your coils with a paper towel, reassemble your SolTorch wax pen and now you are back in action!
